Piano Studio of Sharon Newark

Tuition: Tuition is $945 for the school year, or $105 a month (August -May with no payment needed for December).  There will be 32 lessons during the school year.

• A supply fee of $100 is due by the first lesson of the year and will cover all books and materials.  If you paid a deposit to hold your spot because you took the summer off, you do not need to pay this.

At the Lesson: NEW LOCATION! Lessons are held at my house in my studio which is through the gate next to my garage door. You will see a welcome flag hanging by the door. You may park in my driveway, but please don’t block the garage door. Each lesson will be 30 minutes long. Parents are welcome and encouraged to observe their child’s lesson.  All current books and materials should be brought to the lesson.

Cancellations: If you must cancel a lesson, please text or email me. Make-ups will only be given with at least a 24-hour notice. Payments will not be lowered or refunded for missed lessons.  Zoom/FaceTime lessons can be arranged to take place during the student’s lesson time if the student would like to meet remotely.  If I cancel the lesson, the fee will be credited to the following month if a make-up time cannot be arranged.

Studio Calendar: I follow the Merced City School district calendar for holidays. A calendar is given to all students at the beginning of each school year with the studio schedule.  Fall semester will be 14 weeks from the week of August 18^th to November 17^th.  Spring Semester will be 18 weeks starting the week of January 5^th to the week of May 18^th.

Practice: Assignments will be written in the student’s binder each week.  Practice should be at least 5 days a week.  Being in the habit of practicing regularly is just as important as practicing itself.  Parents can help by setting a routine and regular time for practice.

• The most important day of practice is the first day after each lesson. This is important so the student will retain what is taught.

Communication: Text or email is the easiest way to reach me.  Phone calls during the day are fine and during my lesson times you may leave a message.
